This topic is important to the audience I am presenting to because they are the correct age in which the organization is mean't for. The organization focuses on preventing suicide of people ages I do not know how much the audience already knows about the topic.

The amount of knowledge may very from person to person. Some people may have dealt with a friend or family member who may have committed suicide or have had suicidal thoughts.

I would like the audience to learn more about teens who struggle with suicidal thoughts. Hopefully at the conclusion of my speech, members of the audience will look more into the topic and hopefully even want to help.

During my speech I will need to adapt to the way the audience reacts to the speech. Some may react differently to the topic than others.

I will need to use sympathy at some points in the speech.
